An ex-New Yorker, Steve now resides in the sunshine state of Florida. Although he says he misses the rolling hills and seasonal changes , he’s having a grand ol’ time painting the beaches, harbors, waterways, and flora and fauna of southwest Florida. While in NY, he taught watercolor at the Wallkill River School and at his home studio. He doesn’t teach any longer but is very active in the arts. He regularly goes out plein-air painting and exhibits with the Lightchasers group in Sarasota, and Peace River Painters in Punta Gorda. He has been juried into exhibits at the Manatee art center (in Bradenton), the Sarasota art center, the Venice art center, Northport art center, Visual art center in Charlotte County where he has won numerous award for oil and watercolor paintings and ink drawings. Steve is very pleased to have just recently become a signature member of the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society. Ever one to explore, Steve has worked in pastel, oil pastel, as well as dry-point printing and monoprints. He has recently ventured into abstract works with acrylic and collage. He says, “ There’s so much to do and so little time…it’s a never –ending learning process”.
